As much fun as it’s watching and laughing at the Chicago gangland political shenanigans, I have turn my world towards baseball, specifically CC Sabathia.
See, my ragtag small market Milwaukee Brewers traded for CC earlier this year. He was going to be “it” for this season. We were going for it now. With CC and Ben Sheets at the top of the rotation, we would FINALLY see the playoffs for the first time since 1982. Well of course, Sheets was injured again (note to other teams, this happens a lot with him) and we did get into the playoffs by Sabathia’s sheer will in the final game of the season.
Now, the Brewers offered him a 5 year, $100million deal to stay. I don’t know about anyone else, but is $20million a year to work every 5 days is something to turn your nose up at? Great work if you have what it takes, but apparently it’s not good enough.
This isn’t sour grapes so much as just the idea of the status player worshiping these days. This is the second player this year I’ve seen up close who just shrugged his shoulders and just got out. The other being Brett Farvre.
This is why rooting for players isn’t my thing. They come and go. But the teams, I’ll always root for the team.

Something I’ve not felt since….1982.
For the past 26 YEARS I’ve rarely watched the baseball playoffs. They were a rarity to even get a glimpe outside of the World Series. But after watching the Brewers win behind a workhorse and waiting for the Mets and Marlins, it made for a gut-wrenching final day of the season.
Of course, it turns to shock when looking at playoff tickets for Game 3, that START at around $150 a seat. But still a great day.

So kudos are in order for the FIB’s…we did our part last night and they did theirs.
Doesn’t change anything flatlanders…you still have the most boorish and most obnoxious fans on the planet and for what? All the World Series you’ve won?
Then again, if we didn’t collapse again, we wouldn’t have needed you.

About a week ago, the Milwaukee Brewers had a sizeable lead in the wild-card race and now, they’ve lost that lead and their momentum. So of course, you do what every other team has done during a playoff race…fire their manager with 12 games to go.
This move, this late in the season, is so rare it’s probably been done once in the past 20 years or so. 1981 Montreal Expos to be exact.
Then again, any new manager has to deal with the world’s most massive “vegetarian”…would explain the drop-off in power this season.

Hey listen up squirt, you ought to get your parents in on the other American past time, being litigious douchebags.
Probably would be nice to enjoy your childhood, too bad the adults around you don’t see it that way.
