Does it seem the left likes to paint Conservatives and Republicans with as broad of a brush as possible? They accuse people who don’t agree with them of being racists, homophobes,misogynists,wife-beaters,anti-choice,free-speech deniers…and on and on.

Yet, their hatred and their anger is covered up.

Now, I have quite a few liberal friends and they seem to be perpetually dour over everything. You can’t enjoy a birthday or a nice day without them bringing up George W. Bush, Fox News or some other reflexive issue they always seem pissed off about. A typical conversation goes like this with them:

Liberal Friend: “We should get the grill started if we want to eat soon.”

Me: “Yeah, I have my rib-eye waiting to go.”

Liberal Friend: “Gawd, I was flipping through the channels the other night and I accidently hit Fox News! *snort*. I swear, the people that watch that channel are idiots!”

Me: “Uh-huh…let’s get the grill going here. I’m starving.”

Liberal Friend: “How anyone could possibly get their news from them is beyond me. I mean, it’s like people who like Bush. So lame.”

Me…just wanted to grill up my rib-eye and not get involved in some inane political discussion my liberal friends seem to constantly want to be involved in. And I guess that’s the difference with liberals and conservatives. We’re not afraid to get involved with the discussion (unless we need to grill up some meat), but our lives don’t revolve around politics. We’re not going around dreaming about what it would be like to setup some new bureaucratic entity or fantasize about raising capital gains taxes or soaking the rich with higher taxes. And maybe that’s the reason why liberals are always a step ahead of conservatives politically. A lot of us don’t look at the government as some end-all-be-all. Liberals do because liberals like to control people.

A lot of people on the right may be angered at the process, but it’s a blow-back against seeing the way the country is headed.

We see the barrage of anti-American movies and television shows.

We see the drivel that’s being taught to our kids in our school and how they’re being indoctrinated rather than educated.

We see our hard work with our 401K head south because a lot of politicians are playing political games to gain even more power in Washington.

We see a pattern of obfuscation from the Obama camp when it comes to his past, but see the absolute assault Governor Palin has gone through and a willing media complying with questioning anything.

We see our institutions, our country and our way of life under assault on a daily basis.

We see the blackout that comes from newspapers, nightly news programs and the entire entertainment industry and we notice that they’re beginning to encroach on the only remaining outlet they don’t dominate, AM radio, and how they’d love to impose their will on that as well.

So when I mention Angry Waukesha Guy, it’s more about a reaction to seeing where things are headed and not about a general hatred of this country that liberals seem to have about it.
